3D Digitization of Tudela Veguín Cement Plant
The Tudela Plant, located in Tudela Veguín, a town within the municipality of Oviedo, dates back to 1898 and is considered the first cement plant in Spain. Today, the plant produces construction aggregates, metallurgical lime and white cement.
The 3D laser scanning work focused on the crushing building, with the aim of obtaining accurate information to serve as the basis for a subsequent design modification at the discharge point of one of the conveyor belts carrying material from the adjacent quarry. It was also intended to check the ovality of the trommel to ensure its proper operation.

3D scanning in industrial plants is a technique used to create accurate three-dimensional models of a facility and its machinery. This enables engineers and technicians to analyze and optimize plant performance, identify potential issues, and plan improvements and maintenance, as was the case on this occasion.

Point cloud obtained with the 3D scanner
The facilities are going to undergo modifications, so the new elements need to fit precisely into the existing installation. For this reason, 3D laser scanning was chosen, as it allows us to verify the location of the various structural elements, pipes, machinery, etc.
Dogram has extensive experience in the 3D digitization of industrial environments, ensuring the quality of the point cloud and the confidential handling of data. Many thanks to Cementos Tudela Veguín for trusting us with this project. It has been a pleasure.
